Closure of Redcliffe Bascule Bridge: from 1 August 2022

Redcliffe Bascule Bridge closure from 1 August 2022 for approximately 10 weeks (to both vehicles and pedestrians), Bristol City Council have provided details on the diversion route over Bristol Bridge as follows:

General vehicles can only use Bristol Bridge if they are using the diversion route as detailed in the map below. Therefore, anyone entering from High Street will be outside of this arrangement and will be subject to enforcement. Also the operation at the west of Baldwin Street isn’t being changed by the diversion so enforcement will continue as normal there. All traffic going down Baldwin Street, will need to turn at Marsh Street as shown on map below.

On Foot

We’re located on the harbourside, a ten minute walk from the city centre or a twenty minute walk from Bristol Temple Meads train station.

Look out for Bristol Legible City street information panels which should direct you to Arnolfini from all directions.

By Bike and E-Scooters

Voi Scotters are available to hire via their app from various parking stations around the city centre. The closest parking station is less than two minutes walk from Arnolfini.

Yo Bike are also available to hire nearby via their app.

Bike racks are located outside the building. There is a dedicated cycle track and several bicycle stands on Prince Street.

There’s a tyre pump nearby at the end of M Shed on Wapping Road.

By Train

Arnolfini is a twenty minute walk or five minute taxi from Bristol Temple Meads railway station. A taxi rank can be found outside the station.

A number of buses leave from Bristol Temple Meads to the city centre, around a ten minute walk away.

By Bus

Most city centre bus services stop within walking distance of Arnolfini. The nearest stops are at The Centre/Broad Quay and Queen Square, which is about a five minute walk away.

Marlborough Street Bus Station is a twenty minute walk away.

By Car

We’re located on the harbourside around two miles from the M32 motorway. Once you reach the centre of Bristol, you can reach Arnolfini by following the brown tourism signs.

There are two car parks nearby at The Grove Car Park (BS1 4RB) and Wapping Wharf Car Park (BS1 4RH).

There are two electric vehicle charging points within the The Grove Car Park.

There are two designated Blue Badge parking spaces within easy reach of Arnolfini in the Mud Dock City Docks car park, accessed via The Grove Car Park. There are also five spaces in The Grove Car Park. Parking in the accessible blue badge spaces are free, and are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. By Boat

You can catch a ferry from Bristol Temple Meads and Hotwells to Prince Street Bridge on the Floating Harbour, which is a five minutes walk away.

Boats run every 40-50 minutes – visit the Bristol Ferry Boats website for timetables and fares.

By Coach

We are located on the harbourside in the city centre on Narrow Quay around two miles from the M32.
