Arnolfini - est 1961

Presented by Qu Junktions, Outlands, and Arnolfini, DRIFT is an immersive audiovisual experience created by acclaimed German record label Raster.

Part club, part installation, part immersive environment. DRIFT will take place within a specially constructed space that plays host to the elegant bass sculptures of Kyoka and the dismantled techno of Grischa Lichtenberger, both from acclaimed German electronic music record label Raster. Support on the night comes from YTAC (Numbers/Eis Haus).

Expect heavy electronics and hypno-chaotic grooves combined with interactive projections that spill out across the crowd. The audience and performers influence the digital visuals, building the performance throughout.

Biographies

Kyoka

Kyoka works as a musician/composer in Berlin and Tokyo. She is best known for her direct musical approach and heavy-rough sound, producing experimental yet danceable rhythms. Growing up in Japan, she took piano, flute and syamisen lessons. While listening and recording radio shows to tape, she became attracted by the possibilities of scratching tapes back and forth and soon she begun to use the tape recorder as her toy, cutting, editing and producing her first rough sounds.

Grischa Lichtenberger

Grischa Lichtenberger (born 1983) is an electronic music producer, visual and installation artist living in Berlin. Growing up in rural Germany, his artistic approach developed through a relationship with landscape. His work explores traces of biographical history as well as the material concreteness of his surroundings. His immersive live performances oscillate between abrasive compositions and intricate, often intimate structures of beat and melody.

DRIFT is an Outlands tour commissioned by Fuse Art Space
