Arnolfini - est 1961

UWE & Arnolfini present Bristol’s own Libita Clayton, fresh from research residencies in Namibia and South Africa.

Libita Clayton is a British-Namibian artist based in Bristol. She generates performances, and events often working in partnership with DIY broadcasting / publishing cultures and collectives. Exploring individual and social experiences of trauma and rupture using historical research, dialogue and interventions in space, she calls into question accepted narratives and power structures.

In 2017 her work was shown at the Diaspora Pavilion at the Venice Biennale – and drawing on her research in Namibia and South Africa, Clayton recently presented new immersive sound work, photograms, and live performance, in the exhibition Quantum Ghost at Gasworks London.

Entrance is free to UWE art students (on presentation of ID card).
